Why house cleaning is priced by labor hours
A 900-square-foot apartment cleaned every two weeks and one that has not been deep cleaned in a year take very different amounts of time, even at the same size. A single flat fee would mean one customer overpays and the other gets a rushed job. Pricing by labor hours keeps it fair: you pay for the actual work your home needs.
What is a labor hour?
A labor hour is one cleaner working for one hour. If a team of two cleaners spends two hours in your home, that is four labor hours. A small team gets your home back faster, while the total hours and your price stay the same.
What determines how many hours your home needs
1. Size of your home. More square footage and more bathrooms mean more surfaces. Kitchens and bathrooms take the most time.
2. Condition and frequency. A home on a recurring schedule stays topped up, so each visit is quick. A first-time clean needs more hours to reach our standard.
3. Clutter. A clear surface is far faster to clean than one we work around. Tidying before we arrive lowers your hours.
4. Pets. Pet hair and dander add real time, especially on carpets, upholstery, and baseboards.
5. Type of service. A standard clean, a deep clean, and a move-out clean are very different jobs.

Standard vs. Deep vs. Move-Out cleaning
Standard cleaning: surfaces, floors, kitchen, bathrooms, and dusting. The baseline above, and the cheapest per visit on a recurring plan.
Deep cleaning: everything in a standard clean plus baseboards, inside appliances, grout, and vents. Roughly 1.5-2x the hours of a standard clean.

How recurring cleaning lowers your cost
