The request was short: a deep clean, as soon as possible. It came in on August 1 from a Seattle homeowner who had heard about JenyClean from a friend. The home was between 1,000 and 1,600 square feet with two bathrooms. The cleaning happened on August 5.

What does “deep” cover that a regular cleaning doesn’t?
Mostly the surfaces that are touched every day and cleaned rarely, plus the ones nobody looks at until the light hits them. In this home that meant:
- Bookshelves and books. Wooden bookshelves packed with books, with dust on the shelf edges and along the tops of the books. Dusting shelves like these means taking items off, wiping the shelf, and dusting the book tops and spines before putting everything back where it was.
- Light fixtures. A bathroom vanity light with two clear glass shades, both filmed with dust. The shades were cleaned inside and out.
- Switches and outlets. Switch plates collect fingerprints and smudges faster than anything else on a wall.
A regular maintenance clean keeps counters, floors and bathrooms in shape. A deep clean adds this layer, the details that make a room look finished.
Do you clean gas cooktop grates?
Yes, and this cooktop needed it. It was a stainless steel gas range top with heavy cast-iron grates. The grates had burnt-on residue, and the steel deck under them had dried spills, splash marks and crumbs around the burners.
The grates came off so the deck could be cleaned in full, burner ring by burner ring, and they were degreased before going back on. Stainless steel is wiped along the grain, so it dries without swirl marks.
The kitchen sink got the same treatment. It was a deep stainless sink with a bottom grid, spotted and stained. The sink, the grid and the counter next to the espresso machine, which had a layer of crumbs, were all cleaned.
What about a penny-tile shower floor?
Penny tile is attractive and hard to keep clean. Each small round tile is surrounded by grout, so there is far more grout per square foot than on a normal shower floor. In one bathroom the white penny-tile shower pan had a gray-brown film spreading out from the drain, with darker grout lines through it. That film is soap residue and body oils that settle into grout, and it takes scrubbing with a brush, not a wipe.
Both bathrooms were done in full: showers, toilets, sinks, and the glass shower doors, which were finished streak-free.
How many cleaners come for a home this size?
