Deep Cleaning in Seattle

Every house has a set of surfaces that a normal visit walks past. Not through carelessness — there simply isn’t time in a booking sized for upkeep to take a shower screen back to clear glass, or to work a grout line, or to pull out what can safely be pulled out and clean the floor underneath. A deep clean is the booking where that work is the point.

It’s a job with a beginning and an end. Most people book one for a specific reason: a house that’s been coasting for a year, a place bought or inherited, a lease starting, a season changing, or the last thing before a schedule of regular visits begins.

Where the extra hours actually go

Not evenly across the house. In practice the time concentrates in three places, and knowing that helps you decide what you’re buying.

• Bathrooms. Limescale and soap film on glass and chrome, grout lines worked rather than wiped, the parts of a toilet that a quick clean doesn’t reach.
• The kitchen. Grease that has gone tacky on cabinet fronts and the wall behind the cooktop, the fixtures, the tops of things, and the gaps that appliances leave when they’re slid out.
• Everything at floor level. Baseboards, door frames, the edges of rooms where a vacuum doesn’t quite land, and the floor under furniture light enough to move.

What stays out of scope doesn’t change because the booking is bigger. Inside the oven and inside a full fridge are separate jobs whatever the visit — they’re add-ons here as much as on a weekly clean, listed further down.

Cleaning a surface, not a room

What makes this technique rather than effort is that soils don’t all release the same way. Greasy traffic film wants something alkaline; mineral scale wants something acidic. Swap them and the surface either doesn’t improve or gets hurt — grout bleached pale, a stone countertop etched for good.

Which is why the choice is made surface by surface, standing in front of the thing, rather than room by room off a plan.

Someone checks it before we leave

On deep cleans and move-outs a supervisor walks the work before the team goes. It’s the one thing that separates a long visit from a finished one: after five hours in a house nobody sees it clearly any more, and a second pair of eyes catches the bathroom mirror that got missed while the shower was being fixed.

We’ve been running this work across the Eastside since 2022, at around a hundred cleans a month across everything we do. Deep cleans are the smaller share of that number, and they’re the ones a supervisor signs off.

How a deep clean and a regular schedule fit together

They’re not alternatives. A deep clean sets a level; recurring visits hold it. Booking a deep clean and then nothing else means paying to reset the same surfaces again in a year. Booking recurring visits on a house that has never been reset means the first few visits go on backlog instead of upkeep.

Most people who call us for one end up doing both, in that order.
